Patterns and Chromosomes

Last Week in Math we:

  • Worked on identifying patterns
  • Practiced BEDMAS.
  • Worked on how to use different types of calculators.
  • Percents and decimals.  We did it
Last Week in Science we:
  • Talked about what biological diversity is and why more is better.
  • Studied the advantages and disadvantages of sexual and asexual reproduction.
  • Started to investigate the idea of inheritance:  Heritable Traits vs Non Heritable Traits,  Continuous Traits vs Discrete Traits
Coming Up:
  • Place value reveiw
  • Temperature Conversions
  • All about TIME
  • Meoisis and Mitosis
  • DNA Extraction
  • Karyotype Analysis
  • Halloween Carnival on Thursday Period 6
  • Cooking on Tuesday?

Other Stuff:
  • You all have folders and duotangs (so far 3 Math, 1 Science) to help keep your work organized.  Help me to help you, put your learning tasks in there when you get them.
  • You will all be doing a reading assessment.  Just to see where you're at.  No big deal.
